When your freezer maintains 0°F but the refrigerator cabinet climbs to 50°F+, airflow in the upper compartment has stopped. In GE Profile TwinChill models, this is caused by an iced-over fresh food evaporator coil, a seized variable-speed DC fan motor, or a failed defrost calrod heater. We test fan PWM signal voltages, inspect bimetal thermostats, and safely clear frost blocks.
- Low-pressure thermal defrost of choked evaporator coil channels
- Multimeter resistance testing across defrost heater calrod and thermistors
- Testing DC pulse-width modulation supply voltage from the main logic board
